What God Says About Giving
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine."
Proverbs 3:9-10
The Bible declares In 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” for no gift given to God is unrewarded – it is a seed, and it always returns to us. Why? Because God Himself gave us the Ultimate Gift: His Only Begotten Son. God is a Giver!
When we forget this simple truth and consider God a taker, and not a giver, we rob God of the glory due Him for all that He has already given and will continue to give. But we also rob our seed of its power. God did not give Jesus without expecting. He sowed Jesus as a seed, in order to reap a harvest – a family – you and I. Therefore, we also should give... with EXPECTATION.
Tithes and offerings is a biblical principal and in Malachi 3:10 God's Word said for us to set aside the first tenth of our earnings as a gift to God. God is our Provider, and by giving into His Kingdom we are affirming His ability to supply all our needs. Our act of giving is an act of gratitude and thankfulness for our blessings. Let's build the Kingdom of God by being obedient to His word and faithful in our giving.
Thank you so much for your generous support!
